NEWSNew Zealand all-rounder James Neesham bowled admirably well against Rajasthan Royals on Tuesday (October 5) to help Mumbai Indians (MI) to a convincing victory. His figures of 3 for 12 to go with a couple of wickets from Jasprit Bumrah and four from Nathan Coulter-Nile, helped MI restrict RR to 90 for 9.
Ishan Kishan scored an unbeaten fifty to help MI chase down the target with 70 balls spare, which would have done their net run-rate a world of good. Speaking of his performance, Neesham said that he felt like he was making his debut for MI again and hopes that his side somehow manages to sneak into the playoffs.
"Yeah, look obviously, the tournament has been weird, I felt like I was debuting again after the break. Coming out and giving a performance like this when we needed to win two from two was very pleasing. Hopefully, it falls our way and sneak into the playoffs," Neesham told teammate Coulter-Nile in a video posted on IPLT20.com.
With their win over RR, MI have moved to fifth in the IPL 2021 points table and will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their final group stage game. Whether or not it will be their last match of the season is to be seen.
