Former Bangladesh pacer Samiur Rahman passes away

Rahman was part of Bangladesh's first ODI team in 1986

Former Bangladesh pacer Samiur Rahman on Tuesday passed away due to brain tumour at the age of 69. Former left-arm spinner Mosharraf Hossain, 40, passed away after a prolonged battled with brain tumour.

Rahman played two ODIs for Bangladesh when they first played One-Day International against Sri Lanka in 1986 Asia Cup. He was diagnosed with brain tumour and dementia. Rahman served in the capacity of umpire and match referee.

Hossain, who played five ODIs for Bangladesh, was battling brain tumour for three years.
