Former India Coach Ties Up With T20 Mumbai League As Mentor

After his role of assistant coach at KKR comes to an end, he will join his team in the T20 Mumbai League

After he was removed from his position as India’s assistant coach, Abhishek Nayar joined Mumbai South Central Maratha Royals, a new entrant in the third edition of the T20 Mumbai League, starting May 26. Nayar will be the mentor of the side.

After being made the scapegoat for India’s failure to reach the World Test Championship (WTC) Final for the first time ever since the inception of the tournament, Nayar joined his old Indian Premier League (IPL) side, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

After his role as assistant coach at KKR ends, he will join his team in the T20 Mumbai League.

Apart from Nayar, other famous cricketing names from Mumbai have become coaches and mentors of the game. Ex-India bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, current Mumbai head coach Omkar Salvi, and former IPL sensation Pravin Tambe are some of the bigwigs that will be involved in the tournament as support staff.

The league, which will be played for the first time since 2019, has also decided to award an appearance bonus of INR 15 Lakh to players who have represented India and will be participating in the league.
