Former India fielding coach R Sridhar has agreed to a short-term coaching stint with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC), starting May 7 (Wednesday). He will conduct a 10-day fielding program, which will elevate the standard of Sri Lankan cricketers, according to a media release from SLC.
"The specialised program will commence on May 7 and will involve men’s and women’s national squads, Emerging squads, Premier Club players, and the National U19 team, and Women’s ‘A’ team as well," the release further stated.
Sridhar served as India's fielding coach between 2014 and 2021, during which he was part of the dressing room for more than 300 internationals. He will start with the men's team and then move on to training other squads, including players from women’s national squads, Emerging squads, Premier Club players, the National U-19 team, and the Women’s ‘A’ team.
He is also expected to work closely with national, high-performance and club coaches during his tenure.
