Former Indian Coach To Conduct Two-Week Training Program In Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka Cricket appointed Bharat Arun to conduct a 14-day specialised training camp from June 2–15, focusing on fast-bowling development across senior, junior, and women’s teams at the High Performance Center

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) have appointed former India bowling coach Bharat Arun to lead a 14-day specialised training program aimed at elevating the standards of Sri Lanka’s fast bowlers across both junior and senior squads at the High Performance Center.

The program is scheduled to run from June 2 to June 15. During this period, Arun will work with a wide range of players and personnel, including the Sri Lanka National Men’s and Women’s Teams, the Women’s ‘A’ Team, the U19 Men’s Team, as well as coaches from the High Performance Center, clubs, provinces, and coach education units.

“Arun, who served as the bowling coach of Team India from 2014 to 2021, will conduct separate strategy sessions with the men’s red ball and white ball teams, hold technical and skill-based training with fast bowlers, hold video and performance analysis sessions with players and coaches, and also match scenarios to develop ‘game’ understanding,” SLC said in a statement.

The program will begin with a focus on training the U19 National squad.
