Former Punjab Kings Star Sikandar Raza Unveiled As No.1 ODI All-Rounder
He played a pivotal role in his team putting up a good fight against Sri Lanka
Sikandar Raza, a T20 globetrotter who played for Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, is now the No. 1-ranked all-rounder in One-Day Internationals (ODI), according to the latest rankings released by the ICC.
The Zimbabwe all-rounder put excellent back-to-back performances in the ODI series against Sri Lanka, which was good enough to pip Afghanistan's Azmatullah Omarzai. Raza has a slender six-point lead at the top with 302 rating points, ahead of Omarzai (296) and Mohammad Nabi (202).
In the first ODI against Sri Lanka in Harare, Raza slammed 92 and finished with 1/48 to nearly take Zimbabwe home, but fell short by seven runs thanks to a hat-trick from Dilshan Madushanka.
He then went wicketless with the ball in the second game, but slammed an unbeaten 55-ball 59 to take Zimbabwe to a competitive total. On the bowling front, Keshav Maharaj continued to lead the rankings after another stellar performance against England in the first ODI, where he picked up four scalps.
As far as T20Is are concerned, Nabi moved to second among all-rounders, just behind Hardik Pandya, after picking up four wickets across three matches in the tri-series in the UAE
