Australia all-rounder Daniel Sams picked up a hat-trick in the very first over of the innings in the Canada Super 60 on October 11 (Sunday) for Montreal Royals Tigers against Toronto Sixers in Vancouver. His victims included Josh Brown, Shakib Al Hasan and Isuru Udana.
His achievement, however, went in vain as the Tigers chased down 104 with five wickets and eight deliveries to spare. Diljeet Najwa smashed nine sixes on his way to an unbeaten 22-ball 68, leading the way for a win.
The left-arm pacer, who has played for Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Mumbai Indians (MI) and Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) finished with 3/19 in his two overs, while Sixers skipper Dan Christian finished with a couple of wickets as well.
The Sixers are at the bottom of the points table with just one win in four matches, while the Tigers have won two of their three matches in the six-team tournament.
