Wicketkeeper-batter Narayan Jagadeesan, who has had a long stint in the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) dugout during multiple Indian Premier League (IPL) seasons, showed his class with a superb 81 off just 41 deliveries during the second Qualifier of the 2025 season of Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL).
Playing for the Chepauk Super Gillies against R Ashwin’s Dindigul Dragons, Jagadeesan came in to bat when his team was 26/2 in 3.3 overs and let Baba Aparajith keep the momentum going from the other end during the powerplay. However, he got his innings going in the 7th over against Bhuvaneshwar V with two fours in a row.
He brought up his fifty in just 29 deliveries after smashing Ashwin for two sixes in the 14th over. He later smashed two sixes and a four in the 16th over bowled by Shashidharan R to further swell the Super Gillies' total.
Eventually, he was dismissed by Ashwin on the second ball of the 18th over, as 200 went out of the window for Super Gillies, and they ended their innings on 178/7 in 20 overs.
