Andy Flower Gets New Gig, RCB Coach Named London Spirit's Head Coach
Flower has been appointed London Spirit’s head coach on a multi-year contract
Fresh off his Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 success, RCB head coach Andy Flower was named the London Spirit’s head coach on a multi-year contract on October 4 (Saturday). After five years with the Trent Rockets, where he won one title, Flower’s appointment is a restructuring process for the Spirit.
"I'm hugely excited to be joining London Spirit and to be working at the Home of Cricket," said the 57-year-old. "It's a real privilege to be part of such an iconic venue and organisation. I'm also thrilled to be working once again with Mo, and for the first time with both MCC and the Tech Titans."
It is no secret that Flower was appointed the coach, as Mo Bobat works as the franchise’s director of cricket. Flower will now replace the outgoing Justin Langer, who couldn’t find success with the team, finishing seventh in The Hundred 2025.
"I'm delighted that we've been able to secure Andy's services as our men's head coach. His track record across international and franchise cricket, over an extended period of time, speaks for itself. Andy and I have enjoyed a strong working relationship in the past, and I'm looking forward to building something special with him at London Spirit as we enter this new and exciting phase for the franchise," said Bobat.
"On behalf of everyone at London Spirit, I'd like to take the opportunity to thank Justin Langer for his efforts during the 2025 season. He led with all of the commitment and integrity that one has come to expect from a man of his calibre," added Spirit's director of cricket.
