BCCI President and former India captain Sourav Ganguly has been admitted to hospital after testing positive for COVID-19, PTI reported on Tuesday (December 28).
Ganguly is double vaccinated and has been travelling extensively, taking part in all professional activities. He had a mild fever on Sunday and got the report on Monday. The 49-year-old was then rushed to a hospital late on Monday night as a precautionary measure.
"He was taken to Woodlands Nursing Home last night. He has been given medication and is currently stable," a BCCI source, who is keeping track of Ganguly's health, told PTI.
This is the third time he has been hospitalised this year. Ganguly was admitted to the hospital twice earlier this year and had to undergo emergency angioplasty after having some cardiac issues.
"He received Monoclonal Antibody Cocktail therapy on the same night and is currently hemodynamically stable," Dr Rupali Basu, MD & CEO of Woodlands Hospital, said in a statement.
His elder brother Snehasish Ganguly had also tested positive for COVID earlier this year.
