Australia captain Mitchell Marsh won his sixth toss of the tour, with his latest coming in the fourth T20 International (T20I) against India at the Carrara Oval on November 6 (Thursday), opting to field again. With the Ashes around the corner, Australia rang in the changes to their XI, with star players like Travis Head and Sean Abbott released to play in the Sheffield Shield.
India, on the other hand, go in with the same team that defeated Australia by five wickets in Hobart, meaning their leading wicket-taker Arshdeep Singh will play two games on the trot for the first time this series.
Fellow pacer Jasprit Bumrah is just two scalps away from becoming the second bowler after Arshdeep to pick up 100 wickets in the format for India. Among those returning for Australia are Glenn Maxwell, Adam Zampa, Ben Dwarshuis and Josh Philippe.
Dwarshuis, Nathan Ellis, Marcus Stoinis and Xavier Bartlett are the four pace-bowling options for the hosts, while Maxwell, Zampa and the part-time option of Matthew Short make up their spin department.
The five-match series is currently level at 1-1. After the first game in Canberra was washed out, Australia claimed a four-wicket win at MCG but India pulled things back to level the series in Hobart.
