Punjab Kings (PBKS) all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has been fined 25 percent of his match fee and has also been handed one demerit point for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during Match 22 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on April 8 (Tuesday).
The exact reason hasn’t been revealed but an official release from the IPL stated: “Glenn Maxwell admitted to the Level 1 offence under article 2.2 (abuse of fixtures and fittings during the Match) and accepted the Match Referee’s sanction.”
Punjab defeated CSK by 18 runs and won their third game of the IPL 2025. Maxwell, however, has struggled with the bat. The right-hander from Australia has only managed 31 runs in three innings. But he as chipped in with three wickets with his off-spin.
PBKS’ next encounter will be an away game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on April 12 (Saturday).
