Graham Thorpe hospitalized due to serious illness
The former England batter is battling illness as the status of his treatment remains undisclosed
Former England batter Graham Thorpe has been admitted in the hospital due to serious illness, his family said.
A statement by Professional Cricketers’ Association on behalf of Thorpe’s family, said: "Graham Thorpe has recently fallen seriously ill and is currently in hospital receiving treatment. His prognosis is unclear at this stage and we ask for privacy for him and his family at this time. Our thoughts are with Graham and his family."
Thorpe, in February, had been relieved of his duties as England's batting coach following Ashes debacle and has been recently announced as Afghanistan's new head coach.
Thorpe played 100 Tests for England between 1993 and 2005, scoring 6,744 runs, including 16 centuries, at an average of 44.66.
