The all-rounder was the star performer for the India Under-19 side in the summit clash of the World Cup in 2022 against England and scalped a five-wicket haul in the second innings to help the team clinch the coveted title.
The 20-year-old was picked up by the Punjab Kings in the mega auctions held last year and featured in two matches for them. However, a left shoulder injury ahead of the competition has forced him out of the event, with Gurnoor Singh Brar replacing him.
The left-hander made his first-class debut for Punjab in December 2022 and has featured in five first-class matches, scoring 107 runs at a strike rate of 120.22, along with seven wickets at an economy of 3.80.
Brar was picked by the franchise for INR 20 lakhs and will join the team ahead of their away clash against the Royals.
