Harbhajan Singh Joined By Former India Captain In Race For BCCI President: Reports

Former India wicket-keeper Kiran More is also in the race

The next President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) could very well be another former cricketer and continue the trend that was set after former India captain Sourav Ganguly became the board president in 2019.

The Annual General Meeting of the BCCI will take place on September 28 to decide the President and Ganguly has once again decided to get into the mix after he was named Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) representative.

The draft list of the AGM, as reported by Sportstar, has names of representatives of various constituent bodies of the BCCI. Former India spinner Harbhajan Singh will be attending his first ever AGM after being nominated by the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA).

Amongst other former cricketers, Raghuram Bhatt will represent Karnataka Cricket Association, Jaydev Shah and Mithun Manhas will represent Saurashtra Cricket Association and Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association respectively.

If either Harbhajan or Ganguly do not become BCCI President, former India wicketkeeper-batter Kiran More could be the go-to-man for the board. Harbhajan, though is sure to get an office-bearer’s post, whether in BCCI or in IPL, is yet to be seen.

Former India World-Cup winning pacer Roger Binny is the current President of the BCCI.
