England’s middle-order batter Harry Brook was seen hiding his face in shame and regret after once again getting out to spin in Match 8 of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 against Afghanistan at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on February 26 (Wednesday).
Brook scored 25 off 21 deliveries before getting out to Mohammad Nabi. With England chasing a target of 326, the 26-year-old batter started on a confident note and hit four fours, but couldn’t convert his start into something substantial.
Nabi dropped his pace a bit and Brook ended up chipping it back to the offspinner. Even in the first match against Australia, Brook got out to legspinner Adam Zampa.
Brook has a terrible record in ODIs in Asia, having scored 247 runs in 11 innings at an average of 22.45. Even in the 20-over format, Brook, overall, averages 54.78 against pace, compared to only 16.05 against spinners.
Brook has 78 runs at an average of 15.6 and a strike rate of 72.2 in five ODIs in 2025 so far.
