Hasan Nawaz played a superb knock on his One-Day International (ODI) debut to pull off a tricky run-chase in the first game against the West Indies on August 8 (Friday) in Trinidad. In pursuit of 281, Nawaz slammed an unbeaten 63 off just 54 deliveries to help his side to a five-wicket victory with seven balls to spare.
He put on an unbeaten 104-run stand for the sixth wicket with Hussain Talat to get Pakistan over the line to go 1-0 up in the three-match series.
Nawaz was awarded the Player of the Match for his knock, and in doing so, he became only the fourth from his country to be named POTM on ODI debut since 2000.
