Just a couple of days ago, teenager Ayush Mhatre smashed his maiden T20 century, hitting an unbeaten 110 off just 53 deliveries against Vidarbha. On November 30 (Sunday), he repeated his feat as he hit a superb 104* off 59 deliveries to help Mumbai chase down 160 with nine wickets and 28 balls to spare against Andhra in Lucknow. He got to his century off 58 balls.
He first put on 57 inside the powerplay for the first wicket with Ajinkya Rahane and then followed that up with an unbeaten 105-run stand with Suryakumar Yadav (31*) to take Mumbai home. He smashed as many as nine sixes and five fours to ensure Mumbai never looked in any sort of trouble.
Mumbai were clinical with the ball as well, as Tushar Deshapande finished with 3/25. Fellow medium-pacer Sairaj Patil chipped in with a couple, while Shams Mulani picked up one.
Mhatre is one of the rising stars for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). In his first season earlier this year, he was among the franchise's best players, as he scored 240 runs in seven matches at an impressive strike rate of 188.97. Despite his efforts, CSK finished bottom of the table for the first time in IPL history.
