Former Zimbabwe captain Heath Streak critically ill: Reports

In 2021, Streak was given an eight-year ban by the International Cricket Council (ICC) for corruption

According to sources close to his family, Heath Streak is reportedly battling for life. David Coltart, former education, sports, and culture minister, took to Twitter to appeal to Zimbabweans to pray for the cricket icon.

Heath Streak made his international debut in 1993, and represented Zimbabwe in 65 Tests and 189 ODIs. His last game came in 2005. He also captained his side in 21 Tests and 68 ODIs.

More recently, the former Zimbabwe pacer admitted to five breaches of the ICC’s anti-corruption code, including accepting payment in bitcoin from a potential corruptor, an Indian businessman named Deepak Agarwal. In his apology, Streak tried to explain his relationship with Agarwal and said that he never had any intention to corrupt the game.
