Shimron Hetmyer, who had flown back home to Guyana for the birth of his first child will be available for selection in Rajasthan Royals’ clash against Chennai Super Kings. While the southpaw’s absence was felt in the side’s clash against Delhi, an inspired bowling display against Lucknow Super Giants took the Royals closer to a playoff spot.
"Hetmyer is back and is currently in quarantine," an IPL source told PTI.
The Royals, currently sit second on the IPL 2022 points table, having surpassed the Lucknow challenge, with a 24-run win. Sanju Samson’s men will now take on the struggling Super Kings in their last league clash on Friday, where Hetmyer is expected to return.
Prior to his trip back home, the southpaw had scored 291 runs, with an average of 72.25 and a strike-rate of 166.29, showing his importance in the Royals’ setup.
