History Created As Indian Blind Women's Cricket Team Wins Inaugural T20 World Cup

India completed an undefeated campaign by beating Nepal by seven wickets in the final in Colombo

India lifted the first-ever Women’s T20 World Cup for the Blind on Sunday in Colombo after defeating Nepal by seven wickets. The final was played at the P. Sara Oval, where India chased down Nepal’s total of 114/5 in 12.1 overs.

In the final, Nepal were restricted through disciplined bowling and fielding by India, limiting them to 114/5 in their allotted 20 overs. From 100 in just 10 overs, India wrapped up the victory in the 13th over.

Opener Phula Saren was instrumental in the chase, scoring 44 off 27 balls at a strike rate of 162.96, including four boundaries, and then bowling three overs for 20 runs. She was named Player of the Match.

India’s dominance wasn’t confined to the final. Earlier in the tournament, they bowled Sri Lanka out for 41 and chased that target in just three overs. Then they also defeated Australia with ease

By winning the tournament without a defeat, India asserted themselves as the most dominant side in this inaugural edition of the Women’s T20 World Cup for the Blind.
