Next AB de Villiers? Nope. Dewald Brevis is here to write his own script as the youngster, today at the Marrara Cricket Ground in Darwin, played one of the most outrageous T20I knocks of all time to post the second-fastest century by a South African in the shortest format.
In an extraordinary assault, Brevis clubbed 9 fours and 8 sixes as he got to his century off just 41 balls to stun the Kangaroos.

41 balls - Dewald Brevis vs Australia in 2025
43 balls - Quinton de Kock vs West Indies in 2023
All of 22 years of age, Brevis also became the youngest ever South African to hit a T20I century. He broke the record of Richard Levi, who had held the record previously.

Brevis walked in at 44/2 in the 5th over, and started rather cautiously, posting just 14 off his first 12 balls. But then he went on a tear for the ages, smoking 87 off his next 29 balls to complete a historic ton.
The youngster was dropped on 56 off the bowling of Glenn Maxwell, and he made the Aussies pay big time for that spill.
Brevis eventually finished on 125*, the highest ever score by a South African in T20Is and the second-highest score by a non-opener in T20Is (among full members).
