Former India cricketer Manoj Tiwary is not happy with India playing Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2025. The two teams are scheduled to face each other in the tournament on September 14 in the UAE.
There are also chances that they could meet as many as three times in the tournament, including the final.
“I am against it. The India-Pakistan match should not be held. Especially after the terrorist attack in Pahalgam in which civilians have been killed. After that, Operation Sindoor has taken place,” Tiwary told ANI, as reported by News18.
“The situation was so bad, how can we think of an India-Pakistan match? I feel that it should be reconsidered and the India-Pakistan match should not happen in such an environment.
“Our Prime Minister is saying that Operation Sindoor is still going on… How can we play a match with Pakistan?"
The fixtures for the Asia Cup 2025 were recently announced, with India, Pakistan, Oman, and UAE placed in Group A, while Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong are part of Group B.
The T20 tournament in the UAE will commence on September 9, with the final taking place on September 28.
