Ben Curran, who has been enjoying his time batting for Zimbabwe, has called himself a sponge trying to absorb all he can to learn the ropes of international cricket in his early days at the highest level.
"I am relatively new to international cricket, so I am like a sponge trying to learn as much as I can from Sean (Williams) and Craig (Ervine). It will help my development," Curran was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz ahead of the second Test between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, starting April 28.
“It would be silly if I didn't try to tap into their experience. I try to learn as much as I can from them, and it's vital for my growth,” he added.
Having won the first Test, Curran has already issued a word of caution for his team for the second game as the hosts are going to come hard at them with an aim to draw the series.
"We are expecting Bangladesh to come really hard at us. We are not expecting this to be an easy game. We have to work hard for every moment. We can hopefully put in a similar performance to last game," said the 28-year-old.
The middle brother of two more famous Currans Sam and Tom Curran, Ben said that he talks to his brothers about cricket and will be meeting them soon.
"I speak to them on most days, especially during a game. I just check in with them. We are a very close-knit family. I will see them soon. We will look back on this with fond memories. For now, I am trying to enjoy playing for Zimbabwe," said the southpaw.
