Hardik Pandya, one of India’s heroes from the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, said that the Indian team beating New Zealand in the final on March 9 (Sunday) in Dubai, would have made the Pakistani people happy.
“I am sure Pakistani people living in Dubai must have enjoyed our performance,” Pandya was quoted as saying by Indian Express.
He was also asked why India did not go to Pakistan, and pat came the answer, “The question of why we didn’t go is way above my pay grade.”
Pandya, who scored 99 crucial runs, always coming in tense situations to bat in and taking four wickets alongside, was one of the most important people in the team.
The 31-year-old credited team spirit for the success that the players achieved in the last two ICC events, winning both the T20 World Cup 2024 and the Champions Trophy 2025 unbeaten.
“This team enjoys each other’s company and success. It is not an individually driven team. It’s Team India,” Pandya said.
“We all believe that everyone can finish the game or do something magical. We have all come together for one goal; if you score zero, it doesn’t matter as long as the team is winning,” he added.
