India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir reportedly received a death threat from 'ISIS Kashmir' on the day of a brutal terrorist attack on Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam on April 22 (Tuesday).
According to a report on ANI, former BJP MP Gambhir received two emails (one in the afternoon and another in the evening) with the message ‘I Kill U’.
"Former BJP MP and current head coach of the Indian cricket team, Gautam Gambhir, received a death threat from 'ISIS Kashmir',” said the office of Gambhir.
“On Wednesday, he approached the Delhi Police, filing a formal complaint for an FIR and seeking measures to safeguard his family's security.”
After the attack in Pahalgam, Gambhir had posted on X: “Praying for the families of the deceased. Those responsible for this will pay. India will strike. #Pahalgam”
With the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 going on, Gambhir recently travelled to France for a vacation with his family, but is now back in India. Gambhir, under whom India won the 2025 Champions Trophy, will next travel to England for the upcoming five-match Test series.
