The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the match officials for the World Test Championship Final featuring India and Australia at The Oval from June 7 to 11.
Chris Gaffaney of New Zealand and Richard Illingworth of England have been named as the on-field umpires for the marquee clash.
Gaffaney comes in with a wealth of experience at the international level and will be officiating in his 49th Test match while his England counterpart will be standing in his 64th game.
The 59-year-old Illingworth was also part of the match officials in the last final that New Zealand won by eight wickets against India in Southampton.
The duo will be assisted by Richard Kettleborough, who is appointed the TV umpire and Kumar Dharmasena as the fourth umpire. The former West Indian skipper, Richie Richardson, will be the match referee for this high-voltage clash.
The finale also has a reserve day on June 12 to make up for any lost time during the scheduled five days of play.
