Reigning World Champions in the ODI format, Australia’s golden generation will be aiming to claim the only trophy missing from its cabinet - the ICC Champions Trophy. It was in 2009 that Australia last won the Champions Trophy, and since then, it’s been a forgettable competition in general for the Kangaroos, with them not winning a game in both the 2013 and 2017 editions.

And they will have their challenge cut out this time around too, with the side plagued by injuries. The bout of injuries means Australia will not enter the Champions Trophy as a pre-tournament favorite, but still, the team still possesses enough firepower to be able to go all the way.

If Australia reach the semi-final

Where Australia play their semi-final will depend on where they finish on the points table and who they face. Should Australia finish top of Group B, they will play their semi-final in Lahore on March 5 (2:30 PM), given they face one of Bangladesh / Pakistan / New Zealand. But if Australia are drawn to face India, they will play their semi-final in Dubai on March 4 (2:30 PM) even if they finish top of Group B. 

Essentially, it will be India’s positioning that will decide when and where Australia play their semi-final.

If Australia reach the final

If Australia face India in the final, they will play the final in Dubai on March 9 (2:30 PM). Should India not make it to the final, Australia will play the final in Lahore on March 9 (2:30 PM).
