After finishing in the semi-final stage at the 2023 ODI World Cup, South Africa will be one of the forces to reckon with at the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025. The Proteas have been one of the more consistent sides in the 50-over format, and will be hoping to break the ICC trophy jinx.
Luckily for South Africa, they are pitted against Australia, England, and Afghanistan in Group B, so they will now breathe much easier. Temba Bavuma’s men will be opening their campaign against Afghanistan on February 21 (Friday) at National Stadium in Karachi.
South Africa, too have had their fair share of injuries, with pacer Anrich Nortje ruled out of the competition. Corbin Bosch, who dominated Pakistan on his Test debut, has been roped in as a replacement. Barring that, the outlook of the playing XI will remain the same, with Ryan Rickleton possibly being the only new inclusion.
