'I'll be back in no time,' says Shreyas Iyer after successful shoulder surgery

The DC captain had suffered an injury during the ODI series against England and as a result, was ruled out of IPL 2021

India batsman and Delhi Capitals (DC) captain Shreyas Iyer took to social media to inform that he underwent successful shoulder surgery. He also thanked the fans for their best. Shreyas injured his shoulder during the first One-Day International (ODI) against England in Pune and as a result, was not just ruled out of the series, but he will also miss the entire Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season.

"Surgery was a success and with lion-hearted determination, I'll be back in no time. Thank you for your wishes," Iyer tweeted

Under Shreyas, DC had reached the IPL final for the first time in 2020 but ended up on the losing side as Mumbai Indians (MI) clinched their fifth title. This season however, DC will be led by Rishabh Pant, who has been in phenomenal form for India with the bat and has also developed quite well as a wicketkeeper.

After being appointed as the new DC captain, Pant said," Thank you for giving me this opportunity, I will try to give my 100 percent each and every day. Hopefully, we will cross the line this year."

DC take on three-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their first match of the new season on April 10 (Saturday)
