Imran Khan tests positive for Covid-19

The former Pakistan captain and current Prime Minister took the first shot of the Covid-19 vaccine just two days ago

World Cup-winning captain and current Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan has tested positive for Covid-19, two days after taking the first dose of the vaccine. Imran took China's Sinophram vaccine a couple of days ago and urged his fellow citizens to follow suit while urging them to follow the norms put in place to prevent the surge of Coronavirus cases in the country.

The former Pakistan captain is currently self-isolating at home, according to a tweet put out by PMO, Pakistan.

Like many countries, Pakistan too is seeing a sudden surge in Covid-19 cases. The country has recorded over 6,25,000 cases so far and close to 14,000 people have succumbed to the disease. On Thursday (March 18), the Prime Minister imposed lockdown in the worst-affected areas. All markets, shopping malls, offices and restaurants have been asked to remain shut to curb the spread.

Just a day before, on March 17, Pakistan received the second batch of 5,00,000 Simphoram vaccines as part of their vaccination drive.
