Incredible Faf Du Plessis Sets All-Time T20 Record With Yet Another MLC Ton

Faf du Plessis’ red-hot run in Major League Cricket (MLC) 2025 continued as the batter, today, smashed his second ton in four games to help seal qualification for his side Texas Super Kings (TSK).

Batting first, TSK posted 223/4 as du Plessis blasted 103* off 53 balls, hammering 9 sixes in the process. MI New York could only manage 184/9 in response as TSK won the game and sealed playoff qualification.

With the ton, du Plessis scripted T20 history as he became the first batter ever to smash multiple hundreds after turning 40. He also now has three hundreds in MLC, the most for any batter.

40 years and 352 days old, du Plessis’ first ton in his forties came against San Francisco Unicorns on June 20. Now, in just 10 days’ time, he’s added to that tally to etch his name in the history books. 

Du Plessis entered MLC 2025 with a point to prove, enduring a horror IPL 2025 where he averaged 22.44 with the bat and made no impact whatsoever for the Delhi Capitals (DC). But his scorching showing in MLC 2025 could help him fetch bids for IPL 2026. 

With 317 runs, the 40-year-old is currently the highest run-getter in MLC 2025.
