ODI cricket will return to the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack after over five years as Odisha braces to host the second ODI between India and England on February 9 (Sunday). It was on December 22, 2019, that Cuttack last hosted an ODI and there have been no international games played at the venue since June 2022. 

India will enter the game with a 1-0 lead in their kitty, having beaten England by four wickets in the first ODI in Nagpur, getting over the line with nearly 12 overs to spare. They will hope to seal the series at the Barabati Stadium and take an unassailable 2-0 lead. 

Meanwhile, after a very disappointing start to the tour, England will hope not just to get back in the series but find some momentum ahead of the Champions Trophy. A defeat in the second ODI will make it the Three Lions' fourth straight bilateral ODI series defeat and a first under Brendon McCullum's coaching.

The big news is that Virat Kohli is fit again and will likely feature in India’s starting XI. That will be a huge boost for the hosts as they aim to wrap up the series.
