Just when you thought India’s batting was struggling, the ever-batting friendly surfaces in Mumbai helped them turn a monstrous corner. The Indian openers - Sanju Samson and Abhishek Sharma - got the team off to the flier, smashing 21 runs in the first two overs.
Abhishek picked up from where Samson left with a blitzkrieg that left England in the doldrums with a 17-ball half-century that he later converted into a 37-ball century, the second-fastest for India in the shortest format. On the other hand, Tilak Varma continued his onslaught with a 15-ball 24, helping India get to 95 runs in the first six overs, the most runs they have scored in the shortest format.
