After a historic 336-run victory at Edgbaston, it’s time for team India to regather themselves and keep the momentum going as the third Test against England starts from July 10 (Thursday) at Lord’s. The series is currently level at 1-1, and the winner of the third game will go a long way in putting themselves in pole position to win the series.
Lord’s is expected to produce a spicy deck, and India have already confirmed that Jasprit Bumrah will be back. That’s massive news for the tourists, as they will now field a lethal pace attack for the third game.
But who will make way for Bumrah?

India’s pace attack outside Bumrah looked ordinary in the first Test in Leeds, but Mohammed Siraj and Akash Deep stepped up big time at Edgbaston, taking a whopping 17 wickets between them. They were all over the English batters and made life hell for the home side.
However, the same cannot be said for Prasidh Krishna, who continued to struggle. He bowled a decent spell of 1/39 in the fourth innings, but was hammered in England’s first innings, where he conceded 72 runs and went at nearly six an over.
Considering this, the swap is a straightforward one: Bumrah in, Prasidh out.
Could we see India go with four specialist pacers? Well, not really. Lord’s is a pacer’s paradise, but still, batting depth did wonders for India in the second Test. Plus. Nitish Reddy is already there to provide the fourth seaming option, and his bowling will be sufficient enough should Lord’s turn out to be a green top.
This means that Kuldeep Yadav will continue to warm the bench.
