HUGE BLOW For India As Star Down With Viral Fever On Eve Of Pakistan Clash
The player is in a race against time to be fit for the big game
India batter Rishabh Pant is a major doubt for the clash against Pakistan after going down with viral fever. Pant did not play India’s first Champions Trophy clash against Bangladesh, and would likely have not started against Pakistan anyway, but he would have provided the side with an additional option in case of a late injury or a concussion.
But now Pant looks to be in a race against time to be in the ground for the clash against Pakistan in Dubai.
Shubman Gill confirmed in the pre-match press conference that Gill missed the practice session due to a viral fever.
“Rishabh is I think down with viral, that's why he didn't come for practice,” Gill said on the eve of the Pakistan clash.
Pant aside, India have everyone fit and available for the big match. In the match against Bangladesh, Pant, Varun Chakravarthy, Arshdeep Singh and Washington Sundar were the four players who did not take part in the contest.
