India A and South Africa A third Test ends in a draw, series ends 0-0

The Indian camp had to endure nervous moments before the final day due to two covid-19 tests that returned false positive

India A's third unofficial Test against South Africa A ended in a drab draw as the teams ended the three-match series 0-0. Two of India A's support staff initially tested positive for covid-19 before the fourth and final day's play began on Thursday causing a concern, but the match went ahead after the repeat test was negative.

As per BCCI sources, the match would have been called off midway had the repeat tests also turned out to be positive and after it was confirmed that it was a false alarm, the authorities decided to go ahead with the proceedings.

Opener Prithvi Shaw scored a brisk 38 off 34 balls before dismissed.

Arzan Nagwaswalla, Navdeep Saini, Deepak Chahar and spinner Saurabh Kumar are set to stay back as standbys while captain Hanuma Vihari returned to the senior squad after being overlooked for the New Zealand series at home.

Brief Scores: SA 268 and 311/3 decl (Zubayr Hamza 125, Krishnappa Gowtham 2/81). India A 276 and 90/3 (Prithvi Shaw 38). Match Drawn.
