Radha Yadav, who recently took 100 WT20I wickets, was named India A women’s skipper for the upcoming tour against Australia, on July 10 (Thursday). On expected lines, Kerala’s Minnu Mani will now be the deputy, after she led the team last time around.
Shafali Verma too was named in both squads, after she made her comeback in the WT20I series against England. While there was a place for Vrinda Dinesh, there’s no room for Kiran Navgire, who had quite an impactful season for UP Warriorz.
Uma Chetry will be the first-choice wicketkeeping option, with Nandini Kashyap set to be the backup wicketkeeper. Saima Thakor, Titas Sadhu, Shabnam Shakeel and Joshita VJ will be the pace-bowling options on the side.
Shreyanka Patil and Priya Mishra’s availability will be based on the clearance from CoE (Centre of Excellence).
India A will play all three T20s at the same venue, in Mackay. Norths will host three 50-over fixtures before a multi-day fixture at the Allan Border Field.
