India-Australia five-match Test series to begin on November 22 in Perth

Perth, Brisbane, Adelaide, Melbourne and Sydney have been zeroed in as the venues for the Tests

India and Australia will play a five-match Test series against the traditional four in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, which will get underway in Perth on November 22. Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney will host the other four Tests. Following the first Test at the Perth Stadium, where Australia have won all their four matches, Adelaide will host the pink-ball Test between the two sides from December 6-10.

The third Test will be played at the Gabba, Brisbane, from December 14-18, while the traditional Boxing Day Test will be played at the MCG on December 26, followed by the New Year's Test at SCG from January 3.

India have won the series in their last two visits Down Under and also defeated Australia in the series at home last year. Australia are yet to win the Border-Gavaskar Trophy since beating India at home in 2014-15.

"This is one of the most highly anticipated summers of cricket in memory, with the eyes of the cricket world focused on the extended Border-Gavaskar Trophy Series and the multi-format Women’s Ashes," Cricket Australia CEO Nick Hockley said.

"Fittingly, the Border-Gavaskar Trophy has been put on the same footing as the [men's] Ashes with a five-Test Series for the first time since 1991-92 and we're confident the schedule will maximise viewership and attendances and there will be a tremendous atmosphere in stadiums across the country."

Ahead of the Test series against India, Australia will take on Pakistan in a white-ball series, starting with the One-Day Internationals (ODI), starting November 4. That will be followed by three T20 Internationals (T20I), which will get underway on November 14 and reach its conclusion four days later on November 18.

However, the season will begin with the women's side hosting New Zealand for a three-match T20I series, from September 19-24, as a preparation for the Women's T20 World Cup. They will then welcome India for three in December, followed by the Ashes series from January 12-February 2, 2025. The one-off Test between Australia and England will be a day-night affair set to be played at the MCG between January 30-February 2.
