"This cricket match is an insult to national sentiments. Should we be playing cricket with Pakistan while our soldiers sacrifice their lives on the borders?" Thackeray asked, as reported by the Economic Times.
The two teams will take on each other on September 14 (Sunday) in Dubai. India won their first match of the competition against the UAE, while Pakistan brushed aside Oman with ease. The winner of this match will assure them of a place in the Super Fours.
