India to tour Bangladesh for three ODIs and two Tests in December

This will be the first time India will tour Bangladesh in a multi-format series since 2015

Team India will tour Bangladesh for three fifty-over matches and two Test matches in December as part of their multi-format tour, the BCB announced on Thursday.

The teams will feature in three ODIs scheduled to take place in Dhaka on December 4, 7 and 10 before moving to Chattogram for the first Test match between December 14 to 18.

The final Test of the series will be played in Dhaka from December 22 to 26 and will be a part of the ICC World Test championship.

"The Bangladesh-India matches in recent history have given us some epic contests, and fans from both countries are eagerly waiting for another memorable series," BCB President Nazmul Hassan said.

"I thank the Board of Control for Cricket in India for working closely with the BCB in confirming the schedule. We look forward to welcoming the Indian team to Bangladesh," he further added.

Jay Shah, the BCCI Secretary, expressed his excitement for the series and stated the importance of Test championship points. "I extend my best wishes to the Bangladesh Cricket Board for the upcoming bilateral series featuring India."

"We know how passionate the fans in Bangladesh are, and I am sure they will be treated to some exhilarating contests both in white-ball and red-ball cricket. With the crucial World Test Championship points at stake, the two Test matches are very important, and both teams will go hard for the win," he concluded.

India are currently fourth in the points table of the World Test championship and, post the completion of these two Tests, will host Australia for a four-Test series at home in February.
