India vs England Day 2 Weather Update For Old Trafford: Will Rain Affect Play?

Day 2 has been set up perfectly, but could rain ruin proceedings and put a temporary halt to proceedings?

After an eight-day break, the India-England battle resumed today at Old Trafford, and we had a riveting day of action. England won the toss and opted to bowl, and after a rough start with the ball, picked wickets at regular intervals to keep India’s day in check. With India ending the day on 264/4, the Test is very much in the balance, maybe with a slight edge to the host due to the injury of Rishabh Pant, who retired hurt after badly hurting his foot.

Old Trafford Weather Update For Thursday (Day 2)

It was a gloomy day at Old Trafford on day one, with there being cloud cover the entire day. There was some rain forecast, but luckily the rain never arrived, and we got an entire day’s play without any interruption.

So, how does tomorrow look? Well, there is mostly good news. There is about 40% to 50% chance of rain between 2 PM and 4 PM, but it’s clear for the rest of the day.

The weather is expected to be gloomy the entire day, just like day one. But it’s unlikely that we’ll have any major interruptions outside the couple of aforementioned hours. There is a good chance rain might miss Old Trafford during those two hours, too. After all, rain breaks in this series have been few and far between.

England won’t mind the gloomy weather as they will be taking the second new ball right away on day two.
