The third Test between India and England at Lord’s is evenly poised after the end of Day 3, July 12 (Saturday). England are leading by just two runs with all 10 wickets intact, and two days of action still remain.
Earlier in the day, KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant looked solid in the first session, adding 141 runs for the fourth wicket before the latter was run out just before lunch. Pant scored 74 off 112 balls, while Rahul was dismissed after completing a well-crafted century (100 off 177).
Ravindra Jadeja (72), Nitish Kumar Reddy (30), and Washington Sundar (23) made valuable contributions as India were bowled out for 387 - exactly matching England’s first-innings total.
According to AccuWeather, there is no significant rain forecast for Day 4 of the Lord’s Test on July 13 (Sunday). Expect typical English summer conditions, with the temperature peaking around 30°C.
83 overs on Day 1
72.3 overs on Day 2
77.2 overs on Day 3
There hasn't been a single drop of rain so far in this Test, yet not once have we seen the full quota of 90 overs bowled in a day. In fact, the last two days have each had fewer than 80 overs of action.
Don’t be surprised if we see a repeat on Day 4. The slow over rate has been a persistent issue this entire tour.
