India vs England Weather Update: Will Rain Affect Day 3 Of The Headingley Test?

Will we see play getting interrupted on Day 3?

After a bright and sunny day one, the English weather started to behave like, well, the English weather, as rain made its first appearance of the series on day two.

A gloomy morning saw England take seven wickets for pretty much nothing, and then the predicted rain arrived just after India were bowled out. However, the delay was pretty short, as play resumed in about 30-40 minutes. The lost time was made up towards the end, with play going on until 11:43 PM IST.

So, will rain affect day three as well, or will we have a full, uninterrupted day’s play?

What’s the Headingley weather forecast for Day 3 (Sunday)?

Unfortunately, some bad news. There is rain expected on Day 3, and play will definitely be interrupted. According to Accuweather, there is a 65% chance of rain on Sunday in Leeds.

However, there is good news as well. While there is a rain prediction, it’s unlikely that we’ll see sustained rain that will play spoilsport.

We can expect showers in the afternoon, likely between 2 PM and 4 PM. There is close to a 60% chance of rain at around 4 PM, so we could expect play to be affected during that time.

Either way, there won’t be more than an hour, or maximum, two, lost due to rain. Even if time is lost, it might be made up towards the end of the day, like we saw today.
