In the match between India and Pakistan in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 in Dubai on February 23 (Sunday), Harshit Rana put down a tough chance of Mohammad Rizwan off Hardik Pandya’s bowling, leaving the ace all-rounder furious.
Rizwan and Saud Shakeel had put on 101 runs for the third wicket, and India were in desperate need of a wicket. Indian captain Rohit Sharma brought Pandya back into the attack, and the right-arm seamer almost gave India the breakthrough.
In the final delivery of the 33rd over, Rizwan danced down the track to Pandya and wanted to hit him over long-on for a maximum, but failed to get the right connection. Rana was at mid-on and started running sideways towards mid-wicket.
Rana got to the ball and used both his hands but failed to grab onto it. Pandya, who is one of the best fielders in the Indian team, was really disappointed with Rana’s efforts. Even after completing his over, Pandya was seen fuming at Rana.
However, the catch drop didn’t hurt India much as Axar Patel knocked over Rizwan (46 off 77) in the next over. In addition, Pandya dismissed Shakeel (62 off 76) in his next over.
