After a lackluster performance against South Africa, India’s batters bounced back in style against Australia in Visakhapatnam on October 12 (Sunday), posting a score of 330 - their highest total in ICC Women’s ODI World Cup history. Previously, India’s highest was 317/8 against West Indies in 2022.
330 vs AUS, Vizag, 2025
317/8 vs WI, Hamilton, 2022
284/6 vs WI, Mumbai, 2013
281/3 vs ENG, Derby, 2017
This feat also marks only the second time any team has scored over 300 against Australia Women in WODIs - and India have achieved both. Last month, they posted 369 in Delhi, chasing 413 in a record-breaking game.
The innings was anchored by a stellar opening stand from Pratika Rawal (75 off 96) and Smriti Mandhana (80 off 66), who added 155 runs in just 24.3 overs. Cameos from Harleen Deol (38 off 32), Harmanpreet Kaur (22 off 17), Jemimah Rodrigues (33 off 21), and Richa Ghosh (32 off 22) further boosted the total, though none could bat till the end.
India were 294/4 in 42.5 overs before a dramatic collapse saw them lose six wickets for just 36 runs, finishing at 330 with seven deliveries to spare. For Australia, seamer Annabel Sutherland shone with 5/40.
