The Indian women’s team registered their biggest WODI win as they beat the Ireland Women by a whopping 304 runs on January 15 (Wednesday) at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot to clinch the third and final ODI of the three-match series.
With this win, the Women in Blue completed a whitewash of the Irish women as well.
Riding on the back of centuries by Pratika Rawal (154) and captain Smriti Mandhana (135), India posted their highest WODI total–435/5 in their 50 overs. In response, the Irish team was bowled out for a meagre 131 in 31.4 overs as the game ended in a 304-run win for India.
While it broke the record of India women’s previous biggest win by runs in WODIs, this was also the second biggest win in white-ball cricket for India, behind the men's team’s 317-run win against Sri Lanka in 2023.
India Women’s last biggest win in WODIs also came against Ireland in 2017 when they won the game in Potchefstroom, South Africa, by 249 runs after posting 358/2 with the bat.
