Indian batter VR Vanitha on Monday announced her retirement from all form of cricket on Twitter.
The 31-year old, who represented Karnataka and Bengal in First-Class cricket, has played six ODIs and 16 T20Is between 2014-16 and scoring 301 runs.
Vanitha made her international debut during the ODI series against Sri Lanka in 2014 while last game for India was the T20I against West Indies in Vijayawada in 2016.
During the 2021-22 domestic season, she guided Bengal to the semi-finals of the Women's Senior One-Day Trophy, scoring 225 runs including 61 against Andhra and a quickfire 107 against Hyderabad.
Vanitha thanked all her mentors, coaches and Indian teammates such as Jhulan Goswami and Mithali Raj describing her retirement as "not the end but a beginning of a new challenge!"
