Indian players to undergo hard quarantine before WTC final

Indian players from both Men's and Women's team who will head to the United Kingdom for multiple series will have to through a hard quarantine in Mumbai, spanning two weeks, starting from May 19. According to a report in ESPNcricinfo, they will assemble in Mumbai and are likely to travel together on the same charter flight to London on June 2.
Apart from the ones already residing in Mumbai, the players will commence their quarantine at the team hotel from Wednesday. Meanwhile, the likes of skipper Virat Kohli, head coach Ravi Shastri, Ajinkya Rahane, Rohit Sharma and few others will join the rest of the squad from May 24. The Board of Control for Cricket in India has arranged a couple of charter flights that will bring all the members from different parts of India to Mumbai.
The BCCI has asked all the members to get three negative tests before flying to Mumbai, and once they join the bio-secure bubble, there will be more tests done at the team hotel before they leave for London. The men's team will then head to Southampton where they will take on New Zealand in the inaugural World Test Championship final, starting on June 18.
They will also have to undergo a 10-day quarantine in Southampton, at the hotel which is located within the ground premises. However, they will be allowed to train and use ground facilities after a couple of days.
Meanwhile, Wriddhiman Saha, who tested positive for COVID-19 during IPL 2021, will join the squad later and has also got permission from the BCCI to visit his family in Kolkata before leaving for Mumbai.
India will also be involved in a five-Test series against England in August and September. Meanwhile, India Women are scheduled to play a solitary Test, three ODIs and as many T20Is against England in June and July.
