3 Chennai Super Kings players who can have a good IPL 2025

Will one of them be a game-changer for the five-time IPL champions?

Five-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) embark on a new season in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in a bid to add to their titles. They have made a few additions that can prove key to helping them achieve their target.

With the squad finalised, we look at three CSK players who can have a good IPL 2025:

Ruturaj Gaikwad

CSK skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad has been one of their best batters over the last few seasons. He has been absolutely dominant at home, Scoreing 706 runs at Chepauk at a strike rate of 140.

The yellow brigade may not have qualified for the playoffs last season under his leadership, but Gaikwad will hope to turn it around this season, leading from the front with the bat.

Ravichandran Ashwin

Having retired from international cricket, Ravichandran Ashwin's prime focus will be to help CSK, the franchise that propelled him to the limelight in the early stages of his career, to yet another IPL title.

Ashwin is the joint fifth-highest wicket-taker in the IPL, with 180 scalps in 212 matches at an economy rate of 7.12. Moreover, the off-spinner has also showed that he can be aggressive with the bat and can act as a floater when needed.

Nathan Ellis

With his ability to bowl quick and use his variations extremely well, Nathan Ellis could certainly prove to be a vital cog in the CSK set-up, making his value of INR 2 crore look like a bargain.

He was not given a consistent run in the previous four seasons with Punjab Kings (PBKS), managing just 16 appearances. The Australian could therefore come in handy on slow, two-paced surfaces at Chepauk.
